New Kid on the Block

It’s always a little nerve-racking starting a new job. You want to make the right first impression and receive approval from your new boss and colleagues. In order to do so, you need to start off on the right foot. The first priority when starting your new job is to soak in all the information that you can. Before I started my first day here and even before I interviewed for this job, I did some research about the company.

Here are a few things I find helpful:

1. Don’t overthink it – The company hired you for a reason; so don’t worry about not knowing everything.
2. Ask questions – I’m not one to be shy of asking questions, because that’s how I learn what I need to do and how to do it properly.
3. Always be on your “A” game – I made sure to get there on time ready to work and do any tasks for the day.
4. Be positive – Being the new person can be stressful, so if you keep a positive outlook I think the new position seems less daunting.

These tips can help with overcoming the newness of the job. I want to be the best at what I do and I can’t wait to show my colleagues all that I can bring to this company. Best of luck to all the newbies! You CAN do it!
