Caesars HEROs from Horseshoe Tunica and Tunica Roadhouse Distribute Donated School Supplies to Local Schools

TUNICA, Miss., August 10, 2016 – Employee volunteers, or HEROs, from Horseshoe Tunica and Tunica Roadhouse casinos delivered 353 supply-filled backpacks to local students and teachers on Saturday, August 6 and Monday, August 8, 2016.

Throughout July, Caesars HEROs collected an abundance of school supplies as part of the group’s Fill the Bus campaign, aimed at helping students and teachers in lower income areas. Over the weekend, the group presented the bonanza of supplies to middle school girls from Memphis, Tennessee, and elementary students from Jonestown Elementary School in Coahoma County, Mississippi.

"This drive allows many less fortunate children to have essential supplies necessary to be successful in school," said R. Scott Barber, Regional President, Caesars Mid-South. "There are many of us that remember how exciting it was to purchase new notebooks, crayons, and pens and pencils that signaled the start of a new school year. There are far too many children in our community who do not get that experience. We are thrilled that Horseshoe and Roadhouse employees have shown such great support for this year’s Fill the Bus campaign."

Student backpacks were filled with everything a student needs to start the school year, including:

·       Paper

·       Pencils & Sharpeners

·       Erasers

·       Pens

·       Rulers

·       Markers

·       Crayons

·       Folders

·       Construction Paper

·       Glue Sticks

·       Calculators

·       Hand sanitizer

·       Kleenex tissues

·       Lysol Wipes
