Ford Vs. Mopar Series Coming to Memphis International Raceway


Ford Vs. Mopar Series celebrates all things Ford and Mopar


MEMPHIS, Tenn., September 22, 2016 The long debated question of which is better Ford or Mopar might just get settled October 8, 2016 at the Ford vs. Mopar Series at Memphis International Raceway. Automobile and motorsports fans will see Fords and Mopars of all models compete side by side and head to head in many categories from drag racing to a car show. The event will also feature autocross for those looking for a little excitement on the track outside of drag racing.   


Tickets cost $20 for adults with children 12 and under free. Tickets are available at Memphis International Raceway and participants can register in advance and save by visiting  Specific event information can be found at the Memphis International Raceway web site at this link:


The car show will feature individual class awards by manufacturer and overall awards for the best of categories. Top-level judging with International Show Car Association certified judges will be onsite and the Editors from Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords and Mopar Muscle will be there to feature some of the participants. Top awards will be given out for Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Paint, Best Detail, Club Participation, Under 21, and Track Top Pick.


The drag racing portion of the Ford vs. Mopar Series will decide which one is best – Ford or Mopar. At the outset the Series will pit Ford vs. Ford and Mopar vs. Mopar until the top eight are decided for Ford and Mopar, then the fight for the real bragging rights start as Ford will be pitted against Mopar to see which one will prevail. The classes featured are Bracket 1 Top ET (Box); Bracket 2 Mod (No Box); and Bracket 3 (Street).


"We are geared up and look forward to everyone coming out to Memphis International Raceway for the Ford vs. Mopar Series. The event celebrates classic and contemporary Ford and Mopar cars and trucks we all know and love," said Pam Kendrick, President of Memphis International Raceway.


The pro section will include runs by one of the most competitive door slammers in the country, the Dixie Door Slammers coupled with the Black Arrow Cup for Pro Stock. Fans and track employees are already voicing their excitement for a full day of non-stop racing action and gorgeous cars at the track.

In addition, the one-day manufacturer battle will include a swap meet, car corral, a Show n’ Shine, Kids Zone and vendor midway.
