Horseshoe Tunica Honors 14 Blues Legends At Annual Jus’ Blues Music Awards Thursday, August 2, 2018

TUNICA, MISS., July 25, 2018 – Horseshoe Tunica and non-profit Jus’ Blues Music Foundation will honor 14 Blues legends including John Lee Hooker, Jr., R L Boyce, Toni Lynn Washington, Sir Charles Jones, Tyree Neal, Nellie Tiger Travis, John Primer, Sheba Potts-Wright, Larry Garner, Benny Thompson, Dexter Allen, Tito Jackson, Marquise Knox, and Theodore Arthur at the 18th annual Jus’ Blues Music Awards presented by local personality Bev Johnson and singer-songwriter Calvin Richardson Thursday, August 2 at 8 p.m. inside Horseshoe Tunica. Guests 18 and older are admitted if accompanied by an adult 21 years-of-age or older.

The Night of the Living Legends includes an awards show presented by local personality Bev Johnson and singer-songwriter Calvin Richardson featuring rare and unique performances by Karen Wolfe, Toni Green, Chuck Rodgers, Ms. Jody, Larry Garner, Marquise Knox, John Primer, John Lee Hooker, Jr., and Tyree Neal, entertainment tributes including the legacy of the late Denise LaSalle, and a celebration of accomplished musicians, artists, and industry professionals who have made a mark in the history of Blues and Soul music.

Promoting Blues education to youth and performing artists in communities nationwide and around the world, the Jus’ Blues Music Foundation’s mission is to identify artists who continue to expand the ideas of the foundation of the Blues and honor them by giving recognition to some of America’s finest African-American Blues & Soul music talents who are often left out of the more popular mainstream media and awards shows.
