Keller Williams RED Day Strengthens Local Communities

May 10, 2019

Keller Williams Mid-South real estate agents devote entire day to giving back to the local neighborhoods they serve.

MEMPHIS, TENN., May 10, 2019 – Keller Williams Mid-South Realty associates chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, Keller Williams’ annual day of service on Thursday, May 9, 2019, dedicated to renewing, energizing and donating to local communities.

“RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others,” said Sarah Layson, Keller Williams Team Leader. “This year, we were honored to continue our work at the Highland Heights Community Garden as well as extending our outreach to Kingsbury High School where we washed cars for Teacher Appreciation Week and we served alongside Streets Ministries painting offices.”

As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Memphis Realty spent the day cleaning a community garden at the corner of Tillman Street and Coleman Avenue in the Highland Heights neighborhood, washing cars at Kingsbury High School for teacher appreciation week, and serving alongside Streets Ministries painting class rooms.

The Highland Heights community garden was created three years ago when community agencies and Keller Williams Mid-South agents transformed the lot from a dump site. Keller Williams agents have continued to help with the community garden every year since they helped build it.

“Our associates have developed a culture based on making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities that they serve,” said Keller Williams Managing Partner Jeffrey Smith. “RED Day just happens to be a one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it, and get it done.”
