Community Leadership Organization Sets Its Sights on Future with Renewed Energy and Motivation

MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 13, 2019 – Leadership Memphis, whose mission is to prepare and mobilize leaders to work together for the good of the whole community, today unveiled a new logo and new website to accompany a recent move to new offices at 240 Madison Avenue, Suite 601, Memphis, TN, 38103.

The new logo, new office, and new website all work together to set a solid foundation for the organization as it prepares for the future after recently celebrating its 40th anniversary. Building on the organization’s iconic stair step logo and utilizing updated deeper shades from the previously used color families of blue and gold, the new logo integrates elements representing the first letters of the words Leadership and Memphis working together as the foundation for a forward and upward-pointing arrow element. The new tagline and organization focus of “Engaging Leaders – Impacting Memphis” is included to reflect Leadership Memphis’ commitment and desire to develop good leaders into great community leaders so that they can guide the Memphis metro area to a prosperous future.

“This is an exciting time for Leadership Memphis as we have refreshed our brand, our website, and our offices,” said David Williams, Leadership Memphis President/CEO.  “We feel that the new logo and tagline better communicates what Leadership Memphis stands for today and our new home and website will enable us to better serve our program participants, supporters, and the community by expanding our capacity. Our new logo is an update of our legacy colors and also clearly defines the different elements that are central to our organization (“L” for Leadership and “M” for Memphis). When combined, these represent the synergy that is created by connecting diverse elements to create a new vision. All of these components have come together to give us a fresh, new look and increased capability as we focus on engaging leaders and impacting Memphis for the next 40 years and beyond.”

Leadership Memphis worked with Morris Marketing Group over the past six months to research, review, and develop the new look for the brand, which marked its 40thAnniversary earlier this year.

“Working with the Leadership Memphis team, board members, alumni, and supporters over the past six months gave us a wealth of insight into the rich history of the organization and the tremendous impact it has made in Memphis over the past 40 years,” said Valerie Morris, President, Morris Marketing Group. “Leadership Memphis is recognized for its ability to build relationships and networks that drive and accelerate positive change. We feel the new logo better represents their mission and programs today while still honoring their past and creating a new vision for their future. It was an honor to work with the Leadership Memphis team and stakeholders on this project.”

Founded in 1979, Leadership Memphis exists to connect leaders who might not otherwise cross paths, for the express purpose of building a diverse network of civic leaders capable of addressing the multitude of challenges, obstacles, and issues that face the Memphis community. Through its Executive and FastTrack programs, Leadership Memphis focuses on developing leaders who better understand social and community development, increasing innovative and collaborative leadership, and promoting civic engagement that makes a difference.
