The SPARK Awards is a prestigious annual awards ceremony that celebrates and recognizes the efforts of individuals and organizations making a positive impact in Memphis

MEMPHIS, TENN., December 11, 2018 – Napa Café owner Glenda Hastings was recently named as the 2018 SPARK Award’s Legacy Winner for Lifetime Achievement. The prestigious annual awards ceremony recognizes the efforts of individuals, nonprofits, corporations, and schools in 13 different categories who are igniting change and making a positive impact in the Greater Memphis community. The 2018 winners were announced at an awards ceremony which aired on WKNO-TV on December 10.

“I am humbled and excited to be recognized by the community to receive the Legacy Spark Award for Lifetime Achievement as a leader that is igniting change and benefitting our community,” said Glenda Hastings, owner of Napa Café. “Over the past 15 years, we have sought to make a difference in our community and in the lives of others. It is humbling to know that, with the help of my amazing staff and supporters, we are benefitting the community one delicious meal at a time.”

Hastings has turned Napa Café into a business synonymous with giving back. She is the founder of Heart Full of Soul, a fundraiser for Memphis’ STAX Music Academy, which includes a multi-course gourmet dinner at Napa Café paired with wines and live music performed throughout the night by SMA students. This past November, Heart Full of Soul raised over $60,000. Cumulatively she has raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for the nonprofit and raised awareness of Soulsville’s mission as well as given the kids a venue to display their talents to help their own school. Hastings is also the founder of Donna’s Table, a free, family-style Thanksgiving feast served to those in need. With the help of approximately 50 volunteers, Hastings has hosted more than 145 diners at Donna’s Table events inside Napa Café. Outside of Napa Café, Hastings serves as a board member of Angel Street Memphis and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Memphis. Hastings is also a proud supporter of Carpenter Art Garden located in Binghampton, where Napa Café is supplied with fresh, locally grown vegetables to include in many of their menu items.

A recipient of the Memphis Business Journal’s Super Woman in Business award, Hastings’ restaurant has also received numerous awards and accolades, including Best Wine List, and Best Restaurant, Best Service, Best Desserts, Best Salads and the Award of Excellence for Best Atmosphere in Memphis Magazine’s Restaurant Readers’ Poll. Napa Cafe has also earned Wine Spectator Magazine’s coveted Award of Excellence for 15 years in a row.
