Valerie Morris-Bearup
President & CEO
Born in Brazil, raised in North Carolina, Valerie Morris-Bearup has called Memphis home for more than 30 years.
Valerie Morris-Bearup is a highly motivated, multifunctional, and dynamic executive, with years of expertise in communications, community relations, and marketing. Valerie possesses deep knowledge of strategies in developing solid and mutually beneficial relationships excelling in marketing communications, social responsibility, community relations, development strategies, analysis, and team leadership.
Prior to founding Morris Marketing Group she held positions of Corporate Director Sales & Community Relations for Cooper Hilton Hotels and Regional Vice President Communications, Community Relations, Sales & Marketing for Caesars Entertainment.
Throughout her career Valerie has helped organizations such as Shelby Farms Park, West Cancer Center, Memphis in May, Caesars Entertainment, Monogram Foods, Medtronic, Leadership Memphis and over 20 non-profit and civic organizations achieve success in the public eye, on their balance sheet, and in their day-to-day operations.
Valerie has received numerous awards and recognition for her business accomplishments and volunteerism. Valerie has been named an Inside Memphis Power Player in 2021, 2020, 2019 and 2018. She was named the 2018 Executive of the Year for the Public Relations Society of America, she was a finalist for the Memphis Business Journal Small Business Executive of the Year, and her business was named a top 10 business to watch by Memphis Crossroads Magazine. In addition, Memphis Magazine named her as the Face of Public Relations. Memphis Business Journal named Valerie a Super Woman in Business for her accomplishments in business and within the community, Delta Magazine named her one of eight Super Business Women, RSVP Magazine recognized her as one of its Women with Drive, and Casino Management Magazine honored her with a Great Women of Gaming Rising Star award.
Valerie’s awards and service continue by serving on numerous boards of directors and volunteering her time and talents to many nonprofits in the Mid-South. Valerie currently serves as the Chairman of the Greater Memphis Chamber Ambassadors, Vice Chair for Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis Executive Board and she serves on the Boards of Directors for Autozone Liberty Bowl, American Heart Association, West Cancer Center, Memphis and Shelby County Sports Authority and the Levitt Shell. Valerie was named Alzheimer’s Association Volunteer of the Year, American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year, received the Jeff Piselli Media Support Award and many more.
