FEATURED EVENT

The word “fight” means many things to people. To some it may have a negative connotation but to the staff, physicians, patients, and care givers at West Cancer Center it means hope.

Building on the success of last year’s Ride to Fight On, we have developed a unique event to attract a wider variety of participants and supporters. Fight On: Cycle. Run. Walk. will offer participants an array of activities to include: Road Bike Rides at three distances (15 Mile Family Bike Route, 31 Mile Bike Route, and 62 Mile (Metric Century) Bike Route), a Cyclocross Course, a 5K Run, and a Tribute Walk. The event will be held at Shelby Farms Park, one of the twenty largest urban parks in the United States, and is open to patients, survivors, friends, families and all levels of fitness enthusiasts.

Proceeds from Fight On events will benefit The University of Tennessee/West Institute for Cancer Research, the non-profit fundraising arm for West Cancer Center.  Funds will be used for discovery, innovation and advancement in the field of adult cancer research and patient education, care and support.

Businesses and individuals can participant at any or all three events by sponsorship, teams, fundraising, and gloves sales.

Please contact Dianna at (901) 825-4281 or sponsorship@westclinic.com.

EVENT RECAP

Cinco de Mayo / AMA Agency Crawl

We had a blast at our first Bar 456 happy hour on May 5, themed, of course, Cinco de Mayo! We enjoyed hosting and seeing a group from the American Marketing Association as well as all of our clients, partners, media partners, and friends! No one got away without a shot of Tequila and a reminder to market responsibly and that #MMGRocks!

Kick It 5K

Team MMG recently enjoyed supporting one of our valued clients and very worthwhile nonprofit organizations, The Kosten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Support, at their annual fundraiser at Shelby Farms Park, the Kick It 5K!

We were also proud to communicate that the Kick It 5K raised  over $125,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research and Support with over 2,000 people in attendance!

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

We all know, the best barbecue comes from Memphis and certainly Corky’s is a staple in this barbecue town.

Founded in 1984 by the late Don Pelts, Corky’s Ribs & BBQ has expanded to eight locations in the Mid-South and has topped the charts as “Best BBQ” in national media such as Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Food Network and more!

Corky’s Ribs & BBQ is best known for their famous hickory-smoked ribs and hand-pulled and fall-off-the bone delights that draw crowds both near and far for a taste of authentic Memphis-style barbecue. They also offer their fine collection of BBQ rubs and sauces as well as the food that made them famous on QVC and in grocery stores.

You can find more info at their web site corkysbbq.com.

MARKETING MOMENT

Be the “Go To” for Information

Everyone wants to be helpful and be perceived as being on top of their game. One way to do this is to strive to be a reliable resource of useful news, insights, and information for your clients and peers.

Provide tools and information directly to contact and share on social media insightful information that people will want to pass along to their peers because of their value.

Then, without even meaning to, they’re referring people to you with each share!

TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Jamie Crosno
MarCom Coordinator

Jamie graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Management and a minor in Marketing. Jamie is responsible for coordinating with our clients and partners to provide the highest standard representation we can offer. She primarily works with the West Cancer Center’s Fight On: Cycle. Run. Walk. event logistics, social media, and helping to make sure everyone at MMG is on their “A” game!

“I love the fact that Morris Marketing Group hired me immediately after I graduated, so they’re really mentoring me and teaching me how to be extremely successful in marketing,” said Jamie.

Jamie consistently exceeds expectations, works well with others, and always has a positive attitude. We’re happy to have her on our team!

Fun Fact: Jamie loves to bake and always thought she would someday own her own bakery!
