Remember the Mobile Phone!

Are you kidding me? Who needs to be reminded to remember the mobile phone?

Well, to be honest, some of us in the MMG office (mainly just Patrick) are making a concerted effort to remember the mobile phone when working for our clients.

Working all day on his computer with a giant screen and a second medium-sized screen Patrick finds it very easy to put his small screen or mobile phone blinders on.

If anything, we should think of mobile FIRST!

Obviously, we are all on our phones more now than ever and that is where we consume most of our information to include, dare we say it, marketing messages. This study from Oct. 2015 reports participants used their phones an average of 5 hours a day!

Remembering mobile should mean much more than just –  “is my web site design responsive and how does it look on my phone.” We also need to think about the content we are producing and making it mobile friendly.

In this article from May 2015 Time reports the human attention span dropped to 8 seconds from 12 seconds in 2000.

The content and marketing messages we produce need to be short, to the point, and catchy to get your attention in 8 seconds! We should also remember time spent on mobile devices when allocating marketing dollars to reach consumers.
